How Does Painism Help Us?

Painism and Utilitarianism
Pain, Painism and Utilitarianism
Painism is a guide to moral action and states that: PAIN is all forms of suffering; THE CAPACITY to feel pain is the only morally relevant interest; MORAL ACTION is based on abating the pain of individuals who suffer the most; INDIVIDUALS feeling the same amount of pain get equal consideration whatever their species;  PAINISM is universal ie applies to every creature everywhere at all times in every situation. Richard D Ryder devised painism so as not to make a minority suffer for the sake of a majority, as in the moral theory utilitarianism.
